Rules to apply for the Paul Dimitriadis Scholarship Award
1. Write an essay, at least 500 words on the following topic: What is your current goal as you continue your education and where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
2. Attached the essay to this form and return on or before March 8, 2012 to: MCEA 2011 Scholarship Awards Middlesex County Education Association 43 Brunswick Woods Drive East Brunswick, NJ 08816
3. If you are selected as the scholarship award recipient, the MCEA will also need a copy of your acceptance letter.
1. The Paul Dimitriatis Memorial Fund can expend $2,000.00 per year in the form of two (2) $1,000.00 scholarships. (5/92)(11/07)
2. Prospective scholarship students must be high school seniors who are accepted at or have applied for entrance to:
a. Two year college b. Four year college c. Nursing school d. Technical training school
3. The student must be the child of an MCEA member
4. The winner(s) must have been accepted into one of the above mentioned types of schools in order to receive the scholarship.
5. Application forms will be sent to local presidents in Middlesex County. Local presidents may have as many forms as they wish. Forms may also be obtained from the MCEA office.
6. Forms will be returned to a designated person at the MCEA office. This person will number code all entries so students will remain anonymous to the judges.
7. The judging panel shall consist of NJEA Communications staff members, if available; if not, the MCEA Executive board shall choose suitable people.
8. The contest will be in the form of an essay. The topic of the essay shall be determined by the Executive Board. The essay shall be 500 words or less.
9. No essays will be returned. Self-addressed stamped envelopes submitted with the entry will be used to notify contestants of the results.
10. Forms to local presidents will be in the mail no later than December 19th. Essays are due in the office no later than March 8th. Decisions on the winning entry will be made by May 1st.
